Inhouse presentation workshop for teams

The presentation workshop that gets your team’s message across

Your team brings its real presentations. They leave with one clear core message, a storyline the audience can follow, charts that make the point – and practice presenting it with feedback.

What your team leaves with

1One core message per presentationand the action they want from the audience
2A storyline of action titlesbuilt before the first slide is designed
3Charts that say one thingfor the four most common data messages
4Their own presentation, sharpenedtested on colleagues and the trainer

Outcomes

After the workshop, your team can

Four skills that make every next presentation clearer – starting the next day.

Name the core message

State the key insight and the recommended action in one sentence – before opening PowerPoint.

Read the audience

Know who is in the room, what matters to them, what they already know and how they form an opinion.

Pick the right structure

Choose between the hero’s journey and the pyramid, depending on audience and situation.

Make data speak

Turn tables into charts that show the point at a glance – and close the knowledge gap for non-experts.

How it works

A presentation skills workshop built around your team’s real decks

Every participant works on a presentation that matters to them. That is why the results show up in the very next meeting.

Bring your own deck

A current or recent presentation becomes the material for the whole day.

Practice all day

Short inputs, then straight into doing – everyone presents at least once.

Feedback that sticks

First from a partner, then from the group and the trainer for volunteers.

The SkillDay method

Storyline first, slides second

The core technique comes from Jörn’s years as a consultant at Accenture: write the story as a sequence of statements on blank slides – then decide what each slide needs to prove it.

Core message

The key insight and the action you want.

Audience picture

Who is in the room and what moves them.

Structure

Hero’s journey or pyramid – chosen for this audience.

Action titles

Blank slides with full-sentence titles form the storyline.

Supporting content

Only now: the visuals and data each statement needs.

Practice & feedback

Present, get feedback, sharpen.

Design starts only when the story works

Data storytelling

Four data messages, four charts that make the point

Most business data says one of four things. In the workshop your team learns the clearest chart for each – and how to highlight exactly what matters, so experts and non-experts see the same insight.

Teams practise on a real data set and on their own numbers.

Questions about the presentation workshop

Can participants work on their own presentations?

Yes, and we recommend it. Everyone brings a current or recent presentation and sharpens it during the workshop.

What do we need to provide?

A screen or projector, ideally with HDMI, and a flip chart or whiteboard. A laptop per person is a plus. We bring the rest.
