Your team’s training for Copilot in Excel
Three and a half hands-on hours, and your team hands real spreadsheet work to Copilot: cleaning data, checking formulas, building reports. With their own files and a trainer who has facilitated more than 1.000 workshops.
Independent training by SkillDay, not affiliated with Microsoft.
By the end of the training, your team …
- 1lets Copilot clean up and check messy data
- 2builds formulas, PivotTables and charts by describing what it needs
- 3turns a raw export into a report people enjoy reading
- 4keeps reusable instructions, so repeat tasks never start from zero
Spreadsheet work your team hands to Copilot the very next day
Every part of the training ends with a result in a real workbook. These are the skills people take back to their desk.
Clean up messy data
Remove duplicates, fix formats and split columns by asking in plain language, then check exactly what Copilot changed.
Find errors and outliers
Let Copilot review formulas, flag inconsistencies and explain a workbook someone else built.
Build formulas by describing them
From XLOOKUP to nested conditions: describe the result, get the formula, understand how it works.
Turn exports into reports
PivotTables, charts and a clean summary sheet, linked to the source data and ready to share.
Ask your data questions
Trends, outliers and the reasons behind the numbers: Copilot does the first pass, your team brings the judgement.
Make good results repeatable
A prompt that worked becomes a reusable instruction, so the next monthly report starts from a proven recipe.
Copilot in Excel training built around your team’s real work
Real tasks
Each exercise is a task your team actually does: the monthly report, the messy export, the inherited workbook.
Your own files
Participants work in their own Excel files, or in prepared sample workbooks when the data is confidential.
Control stays with you
Plan first, then edit: your team reviews every change Copilot proposes before it lands in the file.
Six blocks, starting in Excel
Excel first, because that is where most of your team’s numbers live. Then the step into the rest of Microsoft 365.

For teams who have Copilot and want to put it to work
Finance, controlling, sales, HR, operations, project offices: anyone who spends a good part of the week in Excel. Participants need a Microsoft 365 licence with Copilot in Excel and bring their own laptop. Newcomers to Copilot are welcome; solid Excel basics help.

Three and a half hours at your offices, or a longer format with more practice time. From December 2026.
Live online
The same hands-on training live online, ideal for distributed teams.

A short call beforehand: your tasks, your licences and what success looks like after the training.
Results that stay after the training
Team prompt library
The prompts that worked in the training, collected and ready to copy.
Reusable instructions
Two or three instructions for your recurring Excel tasks, tested on your data.
Check routine
A short routine for checking Copilot’s work before a number goes into a report.
An improved workbook
Every participant leaves with at least one real file they improved during the training.
Three and a half hours in four parts
Excel first: clean, check, report
A quick win for everyone, then data cleaning, formula review and a report built from a raw export.
Break
Reuse, and go beyond Excel
Reusable instructions, a team prompt library, the right approach for each task, and Copilot in PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
Reflection and next actions
Each participant picks their three most valuable use cases and the next step for their own work.
This agenda is a suggestion. The core format is three and a half hours; a longer format, up to a full day, gives your team more practice time on its own files. In the briefing we adapt it to your tasks and agree on what success looks like afterwards.

Questions about the Copilot in Excel training
When can we book the training?
From December 2026. The calendar of available training days shows open dates about three months ahead. A date you pick is a request; it is booked once we confirm it.
How long is the training?
Three and a half hours: two practice parts of 90 minutes, a break and a closing part with reflection and next actions. A longer format, up to a full day, gives your team more practice time.
Inhouse or online?
Both. Jörn comes to your offices, or runs the same hands-on training live online. Participants work in Excel at their own laptops either way.
Which licence do participants need?
Copilot in Excel requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan. What is available depends on your plan, your region and your IT settings, so we check together in the briefing what your team can use.
Can we use our own data?
Yes, and that is where the training pays off most. If your data is confidential, we work with prepared sample workbooks that mirror your tasks.
Do participants need advanced Excel skills?
Solid basics are enough. The training is designed for people who use Excel regularly; no Copilot experience is required.
How many people can take part?
Ideally 8 to 12, so everyone gets hands-on time and personal feedback. Around 20 is possible.
Is the training in English or German?
Both. Jörn Steinz runs the training in English or German.
Is this an official Microsoft training?
