Facilitation training in Amsterdam
Facilitation training in Amsterdam for teams who want every voice in the room and a decision by the end of the day. Brought inhouse and built around the sessions your people genuinely have coming up — or, when the date is already close, we design that one workshop with you.
What the programme covers
What facilitation training changes in the room
A well-run workshop is not a matter of personality. It is a design, a handful of reliable moves, and the nerve to hold the room while people do the thinking.
Facilitation training in Amsterdam, on your timeline
Some teams want the craft in the building for good. Some need the session in three weeks to go well. Both are worth doing well.
Inhouse facilitation training
Two days for your team in Amsterdam, built around your meeting culture and the workshops your people genuinely have in the diary. Everyone leaves speaking one language, with a shared set of templates and a noticeably higher floor across the organisation.
- FormatTypically two days, on site or online
- GroupYour team only, kept small enough for real practice
- LanguageEnglish, or German if that suits you better
- WhereYour offices, our Amsterdam location, or online
Workshop design & coaching on demand
Your workshop is in three weeks and a training course will not arrive in time. We design that session with you, hand you the run sheet and the materials, and rehearse the parts you are least sure about, so you walk in ready to facilitate it yourself.
- You getA finished design, a run sheet and the materials
- PlusA rehearsal and coaching session before the day
- StartUsually within a few days of your enquiry
- OptionWe can co-facilitate on the day if you would rather not be alone
Where we run it in Amsterdam
We come to your offices. If you would rather not host, we run the workshop at our Amsterdam location:
Herengracht 124-128, 1015 AmsterdamA canal house in the centre, a short walk from Amsterdam Central and easy for people coming in by train.
Built for rooms where everyone expects to be heard
Dutch working culture asks for two things at once: say what you actually think, and make sure nobody is steamrollered on the way to a decision. That is a wonderful starting point for a workshop and a demanding one for whoever is running it.
Teams who decide by consensus
The polder instinct is a strength — a decision everyone helped shape is a decision that holds. It also needs a facilitator who can keep a long conversation moving toward something.
Rooms that speak plainly
People here tell you early and directly when they disagree, which is a gift. The craft is turning that honesty into material the group can work with rather than a stand-off.
International teams in a Dutch setting
Amsterdam offices where Dutch candour meets colleagues from a dozen other cultures, in English, and everyone reads the same meeting slightly differently.
One structure that works for any workshop
Most facilitation training hands people a bag of techniques and hopes they choose well. We start the other way round: with a structure that holds for any workshop, whatever it is for.
A universal structure
How any workshop is built, from the outcome it has to produce back through the flow that gets a group there. Learn it once and it carries every session you will ever design.
The core activities
The building blocks that fill that structure — opening a group up, gathering what people know, clustering, narrowing down, deciding, committing — and a clear sense of which one belongs where.
The success factors
What actually decides whether a workshop works: the invitation, the room, who is in it, how you hold the difficult moments, and what happens in the days afterwards.
Ready-to-use workshop concepts for the sessions you actually run
Once the structure is in place we build out the workshop types your people need, each as a step-by-step concept with its core activities and its flow — ready to pick up and run.
By what the session has to achieve
Discovery workshops
Understand a problem, a market or a group of users before anyone starts proposing answers.
Ideation workshops
Generate a genuinely wide field of options, then narrow it down without losing the good ones.
Alignment workshops
Get a group that sees things differently to a shared picture they will each defend afterwards.
Prioritisation workshops
Turn a long list everyone agrees with into a short one people will actually resource.
Strategy workshops
Move from where we are to what we will do, with the trade-offs made explicit in the room.
Prototyping workshops
Build something rough and testable in a day, instead of another round of slides about it.
Design thinking workshops
Work a problem through from user need to tested concept, in a format a mixed group can follow.
Reflection and improvement workshops
Retrospectives that surface what is really happening and produce changes that hold.
Decision and self-management workshops
Help a team decide well on its own, and agree how it will decide the next time.
Training designed as a workshop
Teaching sessions built so people work and practise rather than watch someone present.
By the subject in the room
Communication workshops
Sharpen how a team explains its work — to each other, to leadership, and to the people it serves.
Marketing workshops
Positioning, messaging and campaign thinking, worked out by the people who have to deliver it.
Sales workshops
Pitch, objections and pipeline, built on the deals your team is actually working right now.
Customer development workshops
Get close to what customers really need, and turn that into decisions the business can act on.
This is a selection, not a menu. Tell us which sessions your people run and we build the concepts around those.
From first call to a team that facilitates well
No long procurement dance. A short conversation is usually enough to shape something concrete.
Briefing
A short call about the workshops your people run, what tends to go wrong, and what success would look like afterwards.
Design
We propose a programme built on your real sessions. You see the flow before anything is booked, and we adjust it together.
Delivery
Two days on site or online, in German or English. Everyone works on a workshop they actually have to run.
Follow-through
Your people leave with templates and a shared language, and we stay reachable for the first sessions they run alone.
Teams we have worked with
On site with you, or at our location in your city
We come to your offices anywhere in Europe. If you would rather not host, we run the workshop at our own location in one of these cities.

I trained as a consultant at Accenture, became a design thinker, and have been designing and facilitating workshops since 2014 — more than a thousand of them by now, for teams at Allianz, Bayer, DHL, Lufthansa, Siemens and Volkswagen, and for plenty of groups who had every reason to be sceptical about another workshop.

Questions people ask first
Do you come to Amsterdam?
Yes. We deliver on site at your offices in Amsterdam, at our own Amsterdam location if you would rather not host, or fully online if your team is spread across several countries.
What language is the training in?
English throughout, which is how most Amsterdam teams work anyway. German is available where a team prefers it.
We already run a lot of workshops. What is different here?
You will spend the two days on your own real sessions, and the focus is design rather than energisers — the structure that gets a room from open conversation to a decision people act on.
Do our people need facilitation experience?
No. The programme works whether someone has run thirty workshops or none. What helps most is that everyone brings a real session they need to design.
My workshop is in three weeks. Is training the right answer?
Probably not for that particular session. Design and coaching on demand serves you better: we design it with you now, and the training can follow later.
How long is the programme?
Two days works best, because it leaves room to design a real workshop and get feedback on it. Where two days is impossible we shape a shorter version around the essentials.
Can you facilitate the session for us instead?
Yes, and we often do. Tell us what the session needs to achieve and we will say honestly whether facilitating it, designing it with you, or training your people is the better use of your budget.
Tell us about the workshop you have coming up
A short message is enough: what the session is for, who is in the room, and when it happens. We will come back with a straight answer on whether an inhouse programme, design on demand, or simply a conversation fits best.
