Presentations with a clear story, from the first slide

Every participant leaves with a sharper presentation of their own and a method they use for every presentation that follows.

Lead with the core message

State the key insight or recommendation in one clear sentence, before a single slide exists.

Speak to the audience

Know who is in the room, what matters to them and how they form an opinion.

Build a storyline

Write slide titles as full statements and arrange them into a story that holds together.

Present with confidence

Practise in short talks and grow with direct, constructive feedback.

Built around your own presentations

Storytelling for presentations, practised on real material

Short inputs, then straight into practice. Participants bring a current or recent presentation and sharpen it throughout the day.

Your material

Every technique is applied to a real presentation from your team.

Practice

Everyone presents for three minutes and gets feedback from a partner and the trainer.

Transfer

Storyline and slides are ready to use the next day.

The content

Three building blocks for presentations that land

From the first idea to the finished slide, in the order that saves the most time.

Block 1

Core message and audience

Clarity before slides: what you want to say, and to whom.

  • Core idea, key insight or recommendation
  • An audience picture: who, what matters, what they know
  • Closing the knowledge gap between expert and audience
Block 2

Storyline

The structure that carries your message.

  • Slide titles written as full statements
  • Empty slides arranged into a storyline by title
  • The structure that fits your audience and situation
Block 3

Slides and delivery

Slides that support the story, and a confident delivery.

  • Each slide shows only what supports its title
  • Data shown so the point is obvious at a glance
  • Short talks with feedback from partner and trainer
A typical workshop day

From core message to confident delivery in one day

Morning

Core message and audience

Each participant sharpens the core message of their own presentation and draws a clear picture of the audience.

Late morning

Storyline with statement titles

Slide titles become full statements and are arranged into a storyline before any slide is designed.

Afternoon

Slides and data

Slides are cut back to what supports each title, and data is shown so the key point stands out.

Late afternoon

Practice and feedback

Short talks with feedback from a partner, then volunteers present to the group with feedback from the trainer.

This flow is a suggestion: in the briefing call we adapt it to your team and agree what success looks like after the workshop.

Formats

The format that fits your team

One focused day is the classic. We tailor the scope to your goals in the briefing call.

Two days with slide design

Storytelling plus a full day on slide and presentation design for teams who build many decks.

Questions about the storytelling workshop

Who is the storytelling workshop for?

For teams who present ideas, analyses and recommendations: managers, consultants, sales and project teams, and experts who need to reach non-experts.

What do participants bring?

A current or recent presentation. They sharpen it during the day and leave with a stronger version.

How long is the workshop?

Typically one full day. A half-day version focuses on core message and storyline; a two-day version adds slide and presentation design.

Where does it take place?

In-house at your offices. For distributed teams there is also an online format in two sessions.
