Team building in Amsterdam

Team building in Amsterdam for teams with many nationalities

Five languages, six time zones, one team. A workshop using special LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® bricks gives an international team a shared picture of how it works – built by everyone and understood by everyone, whatever their first language.

The format

Team building in Amsterdam with LEGO® bricks

Build, tell, agree: three steps that work in any language – which is exactly what a team of many nationalities needs.

Build

Everyone builds their own model – in a few minutes, no experience needed.

Tell

Every model gets its story, and everyone listens.

Agree

The models turn into agreements that hold in daily work.

On site in Amsterdam

Amsterdam teams speak many languages – models speak all of them

Amsterdam is home to the European headquarters of many international companies. In plenty of teams around Zuidas, Sloterdijk or the city centre, English is the working language and Dutch is one of many first languages. That is where building helps: a model makes a point clear even when the right word in a second language is missing.

We travel from Hamburg by train or car with the bricks in our luggage and come to your office, a meeting venue in the city or an offsite location anywhere in the Randstad.

The workshop runs in English. Colleagues explain their models in whatever words come most easily – the model does half the work.

Half day

What everyone brings and first working agreements – compact and focused.

Full day

Individual models, a shared team model and agreements on working across cultures.

Two days

Adds goals and priorities for the coming months, with time to connect in the evening.

When everyone builds at once, every voice is heard

In every workshop, each person builds their own model with special LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® bricks in answer to one clear question – all at the same time, in a few minutes. Then everyone explains their model. The quieter people's thoughts reach the table too, and the conversation stays on the subject.

Everyone builds at once

From the newest hire to the director, every voice carries the same weight.

Hands help you think

Building brings up pictures and ideas that rarely surface in a meeting.

The model carries the conversation

Questions and ideas are aimed at the model, which makes candid words easy.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the workshop facilitated in English?

Yes. Jörn Steinz facilitates in English and German, and participants build and explain in whatever language is easiest for them.

Do you travel to the Netherlands?

Yes. We come from Hamburg by train or car and bring all bricks and materials. Travel costs are shown transparently in our proposal.

Our team is mostly remote – does this work?

It works best as the day the team meets in person. Bring everyone to Amsterdam for one day and build together.

What does the room need?

Tables where everyone can sit and build, a screen and a flip chart. We bring the bricks and all other materials.

Does our team need any experience?

No experience is needed. The first building exercises take a few minutes to explain, and after that everyone builds their own models with confidence.

How many people can take part?

That depends on your goal. Tell us your group size and we plan materials and flow to match.
