  • Icebreaker Activity: Brief self-introductions with “I’m good at… and want to improve in…”

9:30 – 10:45 | Module 1: Fundamentals of Effective Communication

  • Theory: Introduction to the basics of effective communication and its importance, inspired by Crucial Conversations.
  • Exercise: Paired practice – participants discuss a real-life challenging conversation scenario and explore how clear communication could improve outcomes.
  • Group Discussion: Reflections and key takeaways for establishing clear communication in daily work.

11:00 – 12:30 | Module 2: Active Listening and Ensuring Understanding

  • Theory: Introduction to active listening and techniques to confirm mutual understanding, based on Crucial Conversations principles.
  • Exercise: “Spoken – Heard – Understood” – participants work in trios (speaker, listener, observer) to practice active listening and confirm understanding.
  • Discussion: Insights and practical tips for applying active listening techniques in real-life situations.

13:30 – 14:45 | Module 3: Cross-Cultural Communication and Understanding Remote Teams

  • Theory: Discussion on key cultural communication differences and how to bridge these gaps, inspired by The Culture Map by Erin Meyer.
  • Exercise: “Cultural Mapping” – groups discuss and map out the cultural nuances and communication styles of various countries or regions.
  • Reflection: Applying cross-cultural insights to professional communication, with a focus on remote team interactions.

15:00 – 16:15 | Module 4: Giving Clear Responses and Storytelling for Collaborative Work

  • Theory: Techniques for crafting concise responses and effective storytelling, inspired by Talk Like TED by Carmine Gallo.
  • Exercise: “Story Sprint” – participants prepare and deliver a short story about a project or challenge, focusing on clarity and engagement.
  • Feedback Session: Group provides feedback on the clarity and impact of each story.

16:15 – 17:00 | Module 5: Managing Emotions and Opening Conversations

  • Theory: The role of emotions in communication and strategies for initiating conversations with empathy and clarity.
  • Exercise: “Opening Conversations” – practice conversation starters, particularly for challenging topics, to build trust and openness.
  • Group Discussion: Share practical tips and techniques for confidently opening and managing emotions in conversations.
