1. Welcome and Quick Introduction
Start the session by introducing yourself. Share your role, name, and what makes you unique within this group. We’ll also cover the basic workshop rules to ensure a smooth and engaging experience.
2. Presentation: The Core Elements of Successful Teams
A brief 3-minute presentation will outline the key components of high-performing teams:
- Team Spirit: Cultivating a sense of belonging and mission.
- Supportive Context: Creating a safe space where team members feel comfortable asking for support.
- Balance of Skills: Ensuring that each member’s skills complement those of the team.
Interactive Activities
Art Gallery: Developing a Mission Statement
- Group Activity: Split into three groups.
- Mission Statement Creation: Each member writes 1-3 proposals for the team mission statement on sticky notes.
- Sharing & Discussion: Proposals are shared within the group, highlighting and discussing the best aspects.
- Finalization: Combine the best elements into a cohesive team mission statement.
- Presentation: Each group presents their mission statement to all participants.
- Final Vote: Decide on the overall team mission statement through a group vote.
2 Truths and 1 Lie: Enhancing Safety and Balance of Skills
- Group Formation: Split into two groups.
- Game Mechanics: Each participant prepares three statements about themselves—two truths and one lie.
- Engagement: One by one, participants share their statements while the group tries to identify the lie. This activity fosters curiosity and deeper understanding among team members.
- Completion: The process continues until every participant has shared their statements.
Sharing is Caring: Closing the Workshop
End the session with each participant sharing a valuable tip with the group. Tips can include:

- An inspiring quote to live by
- A fun weekend activity idea

Workshop Format: Sailboat Workshop
Hybrid meetings are the new norm, and this workshop will help you navigate the complexities of leading them effectively.
Workshop Process:
- Introduction: We start by using the metaphor of a sailboat to help the team reflect on progress and challenges in hybrid meetings.
- Identifying Drivers: What’s currently driving your team forward? These are represented by the wind in the sail.
- Exploring Challenges: What’s holding your team back? These are symbolized by the anchor slowing the boat down.
- Prioritization: Cluster and prioritize the identified challenges.
- Brainstorming Solutions: In the next phase, the team brainstorms potential solutions for the most significant challenges.
- Refinement & Presentation: Ideas are clustered, prioritized, and refined before being presented to the group for further discussion and action planning.
