First, we will introduce the principles and best practices of OKRs. Then, you will apply your learning by collaborating in teams to develop an OKR set for a small case study.

OKR Online Training Goals
- Develop a common language and shared understanding of OKRs in the global leadership team.
- Learn how to translate strategic goals into effective OKRs on country, department and team level (cascading of OKR).
Pre-read material
The pre-read material includes the core slides of the OKR training presentation accompanied by a full description of the slides. Not included in the pre-read would be the Columbus case study.
Format options for the pre-read material:
- Option I: Website (easy to be shared, video and OKR template could be included)
- Option II: Word-document as PDF (external links to video and template)
- Option III: PowerPoint-document as PDF (external links to video and template)
Online workshop | max 3 hours
(preferably via Zoom for the better break out rooms, but MS-Teams works as well)
Part 1: Understanding OKRs (30 minutes)
- Welcome and reflection on pre-read material
- Clarifying potential questions
- Short quiz
Part 2: Columbus case study (50 minutes)
- How to break down top-level company goals into team-level OKRs
- Interactive group activity: Split in break out rooms with teams of 5-7 people and formulate OKRs for Columbus scenario of 1491
- Sharing of results and discussion of common pitfalls and best practices
Break (10 minutes)
Part 3: Transfer and adaptation of OKRs to your organization (75 minutes)
- Based on group and common country goals, develop sample OKRs for departments like Marketing, Sales, Product or Finance
Closing and next steps
- Open Q&A
- Sharing potential next steps, e.g. country managers would be responsible for developing the OKR sets for Q2, Q3, and Q4 2025 together with their respective leadership teams

OKR Trainer Joern Steinz (MBA)
Your online OKR training will be led by Mr. Joern Steinz, MBA. Mr. Steinz is the founder and CEO of INNOMINDS, an innovation and OKR consulting firm based in Hamburg, and a graduate of the EADA Business School in Barcelona. Since 2018, he has been assisting companies with the implementation of the OKR method, providing support both on-site and online.
Prior to founding INNOMINDS, Mr. Steinz amassed valuable experience as a management consultant at Accenture and as a corporate development manager at XING, a platform similar to LinkedIn but tailored for the German market.
Mr. Steinz is a regular OKR lecturer at academic institutions such as the International School of Management (ISM) and the Dual University in Heilbronn. His workshops have an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 on Google.
